Art Van includes Natura

Retailer Art Van Furniture, based in Warren, Michigan, has added the Natura brand to its bedding floor at 123 furniture and Art Van PureSleep locations in the Midwest.

The Natura brand beds are manufactured by the brand’s sole U.S. licensee, Blue Bell Mattress Co., headquartered in East Windsor, Connecticut. Beds are made at Blue Bell’s Roseville, Michigan, plant which it acquired from Art Van in late 2017. At that time, Blue Bell announced it would continue supplying all Art Van stores.

Four Natura models were designed for Art Van. They contain pocket coils, latex in the comfort layer, natural wool in the quilt and ticking with certified-organic cotton yarn.

“This is a very significant placement for Natura in the United States,” said Mark Kolovson, Blue Bell president and chief executive officer. “Art Van Furniture remains a leader in the sleep business, and the line fits perfectly with the retailer’s merchandising plan. We are all proud that the Blue Bell product sold by the Michigan-based retailer will be made by Michigan citizens.”

The Natura brand was founded in 1994 by Ralph Rossdeutscher. In 2016, he regained control of the brand’s intellectual property following the bankruptcy of prior owner Sommex.
