Ohio acquisition expands Malouf distribution space

Logan, Utah-based sleep accessories supplier Malouf has added more than 1 million square feet of distribution space with the acquisition of two warehouse buildings on 125 acres in Frazeysburg, a town in central Ohio near Columbus.

“The new property is key to helping us achieve some important growth goals,” said Sam Malouf, chief executive officer. “All of our current customers will continue to receive efficient shipping and exceptional order support. In addition, the new location will help us streamline distribution and warehouse operation to expand our private-label enterprises.”

The added space increases Malouf’s capacity to sell private-label goods to retail partners that want to promote unique brands to their specific customer bases, the company said in a news release.

“Over the last five years, we’ve launched successful private-label programs with some of the biggest retailers in the industry,” said Mike Douglas, vice president of sales. “As that becomes a bigger part of our business, we have to plan ahead to ensure distribution space and shipping efficiencies accommodate that growth.”

Malouf now has 2.8 million square feet of distribution space. It also has warehouses in Lenoir, North Carolina, and two in Logan, including one that is connected to its headquarters. The distribution centers offer two-day ground shipping to 85% of the U.S. population.
