Lexington, Kentucky-based Tempur Sealy International Inc. gave away 19 Tempur-Pedic mattresses at the SXSW (South by Southwest) Festival in March in Austin, Texas.
The company was assisted by nine social media influencers at SXSW, each of whom received a free Tempur-Pedic mattress and were tasked with choosing one service industry worker to receive a new bed as a “tip.” The beds retail for about $2,800 in queen size. Among the recipients were a chef, a pedicab driver, bartenders, a bellboy and a festival employee.
