Keith Poet
Blue Bell Mattress Co. Inc., in East Windsor, Connecticut, has named Keith Poet operations manager at the Roseville, Michigan, plant it purchased in December from Art Van Furniture. He oversees production for the 140,000-square-foot facility, which makes Blue Bell’s private-label mattresses, as well as the King Koil and Natura brands.
Poet brings more than 20 years of experience in plant operations to his new post at Blue Bell. Most recently, he was manufacturing manager with L&L Products, a supplier to the automotive and aerospace industries. Prior to that, he was production manager for Detroit Thermal Systems and for electronics maker Visteon Corp.
“Keith’s wealth of operations experience will be a great benefit to us as we continue to roll out our growth strategy,” said Mark Kolovson, Blue Bell chief executive officer. “His expertise in quality control and manufacturing efficiencies will help us continue to deliver quality, well-made mattresses in a timely manner. We welcome his enthusiasm and new perspective to our operation.”
Poet has a Six Sigma certification. He reports to Brian Chase, Blue Bell chief operating officer.
Blue Bell is the only remaining U.S. licensee of the King Koil brand, which is now a domestic manufacturer with its own plant. Blue Bell also licenses the Natura brand. The company is majority owned by Boston-based Landon Capital Partners.
