Logan, Utah-based sleep accessories supplier Malouf, which celebrated its 15th anniversary in August, was named to the Utah Business Fast 50 list of fastest-growing companies for the second year in a row.
Malouf ranked No. 7 this year, rising from No. 22 last year. The annual Fast 50 event, held Aug. 16 at the Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City, celebrated the “entrepreneurial spirit, innovative business tactics and skyrocketing revenue growth” of Utah companies in business for more than five years, according to Utah Business.
Mike Douglas, vice president of sales, credited the company’s new adjustable bed base program and a bedding accessory line for this year’s higher ranking. “We launched an aggressive adjustable bed base program over a year ago with key partners, and we’ve seen a lot of success,” he said. “We are also seeing a huge increase in sheet placement throughout the country and a larger-than-anticipated demand for natural products.”
Malouf was founded in 2003 by newly married college students Sam and Kacie Malouf.
The first Malouf warehouse was the bed of Sam Malouf’s Ford Ranger, Sam Malouf joked. Today, Malouf distribution centers, which total 3.5 million square feet, are in North Carolina, Ohio, Texas and Utah. The company employs more than 300 people.
