Direct-Sales Guru Garrison Jumps to Blue Bell

Mattress manufacturer Blue Bell, which has headquarters in East Windsor, Connecticut, and is majority-owned by Landon Capital Partners, has hired Gary Garrison to the new post vice president of e-commerce development.

He is responsible for working with Blue Bell’s retail customers to help grow their online business. Garrison reports to Rebecca Gray, Blue Bell senior vice president of sales and marketing.

Most recently he was principal and president of High Point Consulting, offering a range of marketing, branding and sourcing services. Prior to that, Garrison founded and led Maine Street Living, where he wholesaled and direct-sold rugs, memory foam mattresses, and a variety of sleep accessories and other home textiles. He developed and marketed mattresses under the EnviroTech and InnerSpace brands, and a news release credits him with being the first to offer roll-packed memory foam mattresses on the Home Shopping Network. Earlier in his career he was president of an area rug seller.

“There is no one in the mattress industry today who has the wealth of real-world experience in the e-commerce industry as does Gary,” said Mark Kolovson, Blue Bell chief executive officer. “His deep experience in direct sales will be invaluable to our retail partners as they … become true omnichannel retailers.”
