Todd Councilman
Polyurethane foam supplier Olympic Products LLC has named industry veteran Todd Councilman to the new post of senior business development manager. Olympic is the Greensboro, North Carolina-based company where he began his career in 1987.
Councilman is tasked with building business in the specialty foams segment, as well as in regular bedding and furniture foams. He reports to Chris Lorenz, Olympic sales director.
Councilman has three decades of experience in the polyurethane foam and bedding industries. Most recently, he was with Park Place Corp. Previously, he spent more than 10 years with HSM, where he attained the title commercial director. He held the same role at Vita Foam and was vice president of sales for Elite Comfort Solutions. He also has served on the International Sleep Products Association Board of Trustees.
“We are delighted to have Todd reunited with the Olympic site as he’s a great fit both internally and with customers,” Lorenz said. “Todd brings decades of experience of product knowledge and customer relationships. He is a valuable resource that will help customers and prospects grow.”
Olympic was founded in 1970 and currently is held by Woodbridge INOAC Technical Products, a joint venture formed in February by The Woodbridge Group, based in Mississauga, Canada, and INOAC, headquartered in Nagoya, Japan. Olympic’s most immediate past owner was a former joint venture between Woodbridge and industry supplier HSM, based in Hickory, North Carolina, which was dissolved at the close of 2017.
Commenting on his new position, Councilman said: “I’m excited about the opportunities at Olympic Products. We produce specialty foams, as well as regular and HR (high resiliency) foams, for the furniture and bedding markets. OP has a reputation for quality and service, which I intend to build on. Woodbridge and INOAC have a strong technical and engineering group that can help develop innovative materials for the furniture and bedding markets.”
