Malouf says it will be able to ship 3,600 units per hour from its new distribution center in Dallas.

Logan, Utah-based sleep accessories supplier Malouf has acquired a nearly 1-million-square-foot warehouse in Dallas.

Formerly a Toys R Us distribution center, the building sits on 94 acres and features 54-foot ceilings and 160 dock doors.

“We live in a world of instant gratification,” said Mike Douglas, vice president of sales. “People are conditioned to want their product in two days, and our new strategically located distribution center makes it possible for our partners to give customers this option without having to pay triple the cost for shipping.”

The new warehouse is equipped with an automated system that Malouf can customize to ship more than 3,600 units per hour out of this facility alone, the company said in a news release. Additionally, it said, this location will help it better service its clientele in Central and South America.

Malouf will begin shipping products out of the new warehouse at the beginning of 2019. It also has warehouses in North Carolina, Ohio and Utah. With all four of its distribution centers, which total 3 million square feet, the company can offer two-day ground shipping to 98% percent of the continental United States, it said in the release.

“With these four distribution points, we have the ability to offer fast and convenient shipping through our drop-ship program,” Douglas said. “This means that our partners don’t have to carry as much stock, allowing them to be more responsive to customers’ needs.”
