Mattress licensing group Englander, headquartered in Denton, Texas, has brought Mark Kinsley on board as president. He reports to Chief Executive Officer Kevin Toman who previously held the president title.

According to a news release, Kinsley is tasked with leading the development and execution of a dynamic growth strategy that covers sales, marketing and merchandising.

Previously, Kinsley spent five years with industry supplier Leggett & Platt Inc., where he most recently was staff vice president of marketing for the Bedding Group. During his time with L&P, he was responsible for all of the group’s marketing initiatives, oversaw the internal creative team that offered global marketing support and led the marketing efforts for the popular ActivEdge category of branded innersprings. Prior to that, Kinsley was an advertising executive, and at the start of his career he earned top ratings as a local talk radio host.

Known for his energy and enthusiasm, Kinsley has a high profile in the bedding industry thanks to his participation in the International Sleep Products Association’s Better Sleep Council, his public speaking engagements at various industry events, his wide-ranging activity in social media and, perhaps most notably, as a popular L&P podcaster who racked up 100 episodes and more than 100,000 impressions.

“Mark absolutely has the growth mindset and skills Englander needs to further the success we’ve had and equally important has the undeniable energy and enthusiasm for the business that will invigorate the brand,” Toman said.

Commenting on this next step in his career, Kinsley said: “This is an incredible opportunity to reinvigorate the Englander brand and continue its growth. Legacy brands are experiencing dynamic changes, and the approach to consumers is evolving. I’m excited to energize Englander’s marketing efforts and build on the foundation Kevin has put in place with national distribution and an expanding international presence. I am grateful for Leggett & Platt and all the opportunities I’ve had to serve the customers, employee partners and shareholders at such a great company.”
