Luxury bed maker Shifman Mattress, headquartered in Newark, New Jersey, honored three retailers with its annual sales performance awards. Hendrixson’s Furniture earned the platinum award, Frederick Duckloe & Bros. walked away with the gold and Pierce Furniture won silver.
“The strength of our dealers is integral to the Shifman brand and business, and it is my privilege to recognize their hard work and growth and to communicate how much their partnership is valued,” said Shifman President Bill Hammer, who presented the awards to each retailer.
Hendrixson’s, with two locations in eastern Pennsylvania, has been a Shifman retailer since 1995. The family-held company was founded in 1965 by Paul and Virginia Hendrixson, who have been joined in the business by their children.
Retailer Duckloe, in Portland, Pennsylvania, has sold Shifman for more than 80 years. Founded in 1859 as a furniture manufacturer, the company turned to retailing in 1937.
Owner Frederick Duckloe Jr. said customer satisfaction with the comfort of Shifman mattresses is so high that his referral business is “tremendous.”
Larry Pierce, owner of 100-year-old Pierce Furniture in Scarborough, Maine, which has floored Shifman for close to 30 years, said, “It is an honor to have won this award. … In addition to making the best mattresses available in this country — and our customers agree — our Shifman representative provides us strong support and training.”
