Montgomery to Succeed Rhea at L&P

Leggett & Platt Inc. announced today in a news release that Eric Rhea, vice president and president of the Bedding Group, will depart the company in mid-July. He will be succeeded by Holt Montgomery who is assuming the role vice president of operations for the Bedding Group. Currently, Montgomery is senior vice president of Hanes Cos., L&P’s fabric converting and geo components businesses.

Rhea joined the Carthage, Missouri-based company in 1988 and served in various capacities before moving into his current role. For many years, Rhea has led the Bedding Group, which includes the innerspring business in the Americas and Mexico, through his strategic oversight of sales and operations, product development and engineering, according to the release. Most recently, he helped with the Elite Comfort Solutions acquisition integration and with operational changes in L&P’s broader bedding business.

Holt has been with Hanes Cos. for 15 years and rose quickly through various roles of increasing responsibility. In his current post at Hanes, he directs operations, IT, logistics, engineering, acquisition integration and capital project spending and planning.

“I would like to thank Eric for his many years of remarkable leadership and tremendous contributions to Leggett & Platt,” said Mitch Dolloff, L&P president and chief operating officer. “We wish Eric great success as he moves on to a senior role at a large building materials company. I know that Eric will bring great value and leadership in this newest stage of his highly successful career.”

Montgomery will report to Dolloff.
