Glideaway Bed Carriage Mfg. Co. relocated its warehouse and distribution center from its St. Louis headquarters to a new facility at the Tradeport logistics park in Hazelwood, Missouri. The location gives the company 111,000 square feet of warehouse and office space. The site is equipped with 18 loading docks and enhanced storage capacity due to its 40-foot ceilings, as well as cutting-edge sprinkler, security and video surveillance systems.
“It’s rewarding to see the new space take shape and become active, knowing the value it will bring to our customers,” said Zev Fredman, Glideaway president. “(Our) strategic expansion to Tradeport speaks to the growth opportunities we see in the bedding market. This investment is part of our customer-centric approach to provide them with the best Glideaway experience — inventory and delivery being critical components of that experience.”
Dan Baker, Glideaway senior vice president of national accounts, said: “We’re preparing for a rapid resurgence in demand as more markets open post-COVID-19. With this distribution center, we have the capability to hold greater inventory and improve delivery speeds to our customers.”
“We are continuously developing new sleep products and gaining customers with constantly changing market demands,” Baker said. “Today, more than ever, retailers want the products in stock, competitively priced and delivered in a timely manner.”
Glideaway is both a manufacturer and an importer of a variety of sleep products. Its product line includes adjustable bases, headboards, mattresses, pillows, protectors and steel bed frames.
