iOBED Receives Gold Medal at Edison Awards

iOBED, a patented smartbed created by Seoul, South Korea-based KD Bedding System Inc., took home the gold at the 2021 Edison Awards, an annual international competition honoring excellence in new products and services, marketing, and design.

“We believe this gold medal, awarded in the consumer goods category, is the first in the mattress industry and a great achievement and well-deserved honor for our company,” said Scott Shamley, vice president of global sales and operations. “Our Body Sensing Technology took more than five years to commercialize.”

Shamley, along with Scott Smalling, executive vice president of global sales and marketing, and Raymond Chung, vice president of global business development, attended the awards gala April 22 in Fort Myers, Florida.

Edison Awards nominees are reviewed and winners are selected by a large third-party network of industry experts, business executives and academics. Bronze, silver and gold medal winners in 16 award categories earn the right to display the Edison Awards seal.

“Congratulations to iOBED International on winning the 2021 Edison Gold Award,” said Ryan Trainer, president of the International Sleep Products Association. “Products that help people lead a healthy and happy life have a positive impact on the world. The bedding industry is fortunate to have many creative companies that are using technology to give consumers a better night’s sleep. As our industry responds to the changing needs of the bedding customer, it’s exciting to see iOBED recognized for its innovative and inspired design.”
