BekaertDeslee has promoted Charlene Vaz to North America director of marketing and design.
In her new position, Vaz assumes responsibility for leading the design staff of the global ticking supplier’s U.S. and Mexico business and guides regional sales staff in all design matters. She also leads marketing and advertising efforts for BekaertDeslee North America, which has headquarters in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Her duties include directing all types of marketing, advertising, branding and promotions for the region.
Vaz, who now is based in North Carolina, has worked for BekaertDeslee for six years and most recently was design manager for Mexico and Central America. She has an extensive international background in fashion, apparel, packaging design and graphic design, and began with the company in design management roles for the Waregem, Belgium-based company’s South American business.
“BekaertDeslee’s undisputed leadership position in design and innovation has been significantly enhanced with Charlene’s extensive experience in European and North, Central and South American fashions and trends,” said Rafael Rodriguez, president of BekaertDeslee North America. “She brings a unique global perspective combined with a high level of energy and a passion for ‘wowing’ our customers.”
Vaz reports to Rodriguez.
