LOGAN, Utah—On Monday August 23, the Malouf Foundation™ is inviting all attendees at Las Vegas Market to their sixth Forging Freedom event. This year, the event highlights how companies can become OnWatch™ Advocates. OnWatch™ is an online, free, hour-long training designed to help users recognize and report the signs of sex trafficking.
“We’re excited to host our Forging Freedom event, which connects the industry to high-impact opportunities that can help prevent human trafficking” said Malouf Foundation™ Executive Director Jake Neeley. “We invite everyone to the Malouf showroom to learn how to include your employees in this important work. People who have taken the OnWatch™ training have already identified multiple individuals in trafficking situations and made a huge difference.”
Groups enrolled in the OnWatch™ Advocate Program make a commitment to combat trafficking by training at least 90 percent of employees or participants through the OnWatch™ training. Once they reach the minimum percentage goal, groups receive a one-year certification badge and marketing materials to share on their platforms.
Barry Whitehead, principal of Legacy Logistics, said of training his staff: “My team has experienced the unpredicted benefits of the OnWatch™ training. It has softened our hearts, strengthened our culture, and created a more engaged team. We stand for something bigger than any one of us could individually.”
CEO Sam Malouf said, “Alongside this event, we are releasing a new module featuring the story of a survivor named Alia. She, and another survivor, will speak at the event and introduce this exciting opportunity. You won’t want to miss it!”
The event is August 23 from 4:45pm to 5:45pm at the Malouf™ showroom in Suite B1350. Interested individuals can RSVP here. Groups interested in the OnWatch™ Advocate Program can visit IAmOnWatch.org/Groups or email [email protected] for additional information.
All suspected trafficking situations should be reported to the National Human Trafficking Hotline at 1-888-373-7888.
