Atlanta-based mattress major Serta Simmons Bedding LLC is trying to keep things chill with the nationwide rollout of Serta Arctic.
Designed to help people sleep cooler, Serta Arctic mattresses feature Reactex, a three-part cooling system that disperses heat away from the body, resulting in a bed 15 times cooler than previous product lines, the company said.
New Serta Arctic accessories offer the same proprietary cooling technology. Pillows ($149), in both memory foam and fiber versions, are up to 40 times cooler than a standard pillow, according to the company. Mattress protectors ($179–$229) are designed to be five times cooler than a standard alternative, SSB said.
To round out the line, SSB has introduced 400-thread count sheets ($179–$279) made of a blend of Tencel, cooling nylon and CoolMAX polyester.
Previously, the Serta Artic mattress was available on only Serta.com and in select stores. Now it is available to retailers nationwide.
“At its core, the Serta brand is a champion of comfort for all,” said Laura Brewick, senior vice president of brand marketing for SSB. “We have pioneered sleep innovation for more than 90 years to deliver on that promise. With Serta Arctic, we are changing the game when it comes to helping people stay cool at night, and we look forward to bringing this new technology to an even broader group of consumers this year.”
