Malouf Ramps Up Software Development Team

Logan, Utah-based Malouf has added Phil Dutson and Casey Doolittle to their software development department. Dutson will serve as director of web development, and Doolittle will be director of software engineering. Moving forward, they will work together to offer broader technical support to Malouf’s retail partners.

Doolittle oversees the software engineering team. One of his main responsibilities is managing Malouf’s internal software. These systems include shipping software, customer relations software, inventory and warehouse management software, supply chain/purchasing management software and accounts receivable software.

“I’m passionate about software development and using my expertise to promote business profitability and success,” Doolittle said. “With my new position at Malouf, I’m excited to help build the most effective software solutions that support our retail partners and their specific needs.”

Previously a software developer at a well-known fitness retailer for 15 years, Doolittle has held several highly specialized positions in the tech industry, including technical editor at Pearson and communications technician for the United States Marine Corps. He was also an adjunct professor and acting department head of computer science at Stevens-Henager College.

Dutson directs the efforts of Malouf’s web development team. His department oversees the operations of their Wholesale Resource Center (WRC), as well as their product websites like maloufhome.com, weekenderbedding.com and saltflathome.com. He works closely with each team member and educates them on best practices and using outside-the-box strategies to give Malouf a competitive edge.

“I’m excited to be part of creating a close-knit strategy between our brands, marketing, design and development teams,” Dutson said. “Malouf is known in the industry for their in-house capabilities. I hope to keep that reputation while streamlining internal processes and finding new ways to grow.”

Dutson has over 15 years of experience in web development, and he’s familiar with myriad development strategies, methods and principles. He has also authored several technical books that have been translated into over five languages. Prior to Malouf, he spent seven years as a solution architect for a consumer wellness brand.
