The Malouf Foundation has hired Sage Hancock as its director of impact. Her newly created role oversees the company’s impact initiatives including the work of the Malouf Foundation and the Elizabeth Smart Foundation (ESF). Hancock came from ESF when the two organizations joined forces earlier this year.
“I’m so impressed by Malouf and their desire to use business as a force for good,” Hancock said. “It’s also rewarding to join an industry that’s so committed to giving back. I’m excited to work with our retail partner network to expand the impact of the Malouf Foundation — to provide community education, as well as healing and advocacy for survivors.”
As executive director of ESF and director of impact at the Logan, Utah-based Malouf Foundation, Hancock works to further develop existing programs such as OnWatch, Smart Defense, Raise, Juniper Scholarship, Rooms Restored, Heroes Landing and the “We Believe You” campaign.
With a strong background and a focus on philanthropy, she prioritizes the financial success of the Malouf Foundation and ESF by fostering relationships with major donors, foundations and corporate partners. She also pursues grant opportunities to expand reach and influence.
Hancock has several years of nonprofit experience including a stint in development and operations at a small healthcare organization. She most recently worked in fundraising for five universities, as well as worldwide humanitarian efforts. Last year, she completed her MBA through Louisiana State University Shreveport.
“Sage’s philanthropic experience has already helped us scale our sustainability and impact,” said Jake Neeley, executive director of the Malouf Foundation. “Plus, her business development mindset has led to several new partnerships that intersect multiple areas of the company, not just the Malouf Foundation. Sage will be instrumental in all future growth.”
During the month of November, both foundations are running their “We Believe You” campaign. The movement is designed to support survivors of sexual violence by creating a safe space for them to share their experiences.
