ABM International Inc. has acquired Gribetz International and Porter International from Leggett & Platt.
ABM International, a fourth-generation family-owned industrial machine manufacturer, is headquartered in Montgomery, Texas. The supplier’s other divisions include Innova Quilting Systems, Necchi US home sewing and Accustitch.
The businesses acquired — Gribetz, Porter and Galkin —bring more than 117 years of manufacturing experience to ABM, along with 70 employees, more than 100,000 square feet of state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities, as well as “unmatched engineering capabilities, and top-notch service and support,” the company said in a news release.
Paul Block will lead the new division of ABM, consolidated as Gribetz.
According to the release, Neal Schwarzberger, president of ABM, is excited at the prospect of Gribetz bringing in a parts and service team, led by John Kelley.
Customers can view the Gribetz website at Gribetz.com. Service and support will remain intact although customers may need to recreate their account login with the new website.
Block, Gribetz president of sales, said: “I am excited about the synergies these companies will create for the mattress and home furnishings industries.”
