MEBANE, North Carolina – Luxury bedding manufacturer, Kingsdown, Inc., is unveiling performance and aesthetic enhancements to its best-selling Natural Fusion collection at the Summer Las Vegas Market this week in a move designed to help retailers respond to higher-end shoppers interested in natural products–but want a more elegant look.
With an even more plush feel, the new Natural Fusion Euro-top plush epitomizes the higher-end aesthetic of the entire collection with an upgraded white cover with embroidered handles, a look that Mike James, chairman of Kingsdown describes as “softer, lighter and more elegant, ideal for the upper-end buyer. So many of our competitors feature either very blue, or very black looks, and we believe discerning consumers are ready for something that isn’t quite so brash in appearance,” he said.
Wrapped in the new cover panels, the entire Natural Fusion line offers a more elegant natural aesthetic, designed to stand out on store floors. The beds feature exclusive woven borders set off with embroidery and white chenille tape, with each bed constructed using a mix of materials that emphasize natural fibers, including cashmere, Joma wool, Tencel, latex and cotton.
“For a long time, we had some issues with how ‘natural’ products were being portrayed in the marketplace, with companies across the industry choosing to apply the label to products that really were not,” said Frank Hood, chief executive officer. “From the outset, our design team wanted to tell a more transparent story that dealers could feel good about selling.”
According to Hood, the Natural Fusion collection provided the solution by blending the best natural materials with the modern technology for which Kingsdown has long been known.
Both executives said they were pleasantly surprised by the immediate acceptance of the line at retail. With the tagline “shaped by nature and refined by science”—Natural Fusion has also quickly attracted a number of new dealers to Kingsdown who see the opportunity to offer a more natural and affordable handmade mattress line with exclusivity in their marketplaces.
Ranging in comfort feels from firm to plush tight tops, and medium to plush Euro Tops, all of the Natural Fusion models feature Kingsdown’s Full Body Surround® Edge Support with Motion Separation Foam and range from 13.5” to 15.5” in height. Suggested retails start at $1,399, with four entry level models featuring classic coil construction and the line’s four upper-end models featuring Kingsdown’s exclusive Wave coil construction.
