Therapedic Worldwide, Sleep International Appoint Industry Veteran to Dual-Capacity Executive Leadership Role

NEW RELEASE

PRINCETON, N.J. (July 23, 2026) â€“ Therapedic Worldwide and its largest licensee Sleep International have appointed John Rachid to the newly created role of chief commercial officer to accelerate the strategic growth of both organizations.

In this dual-capacity position, Rachid will lead commercial strategy, business development, licensing expansion, brand growth, and key retail partnerships across the two independently operated companies. He will work closely with Therapedic Worldwide CEO Gerry Borreggine and Sleep International CEO Adam Weinman.

Rachid brings more than 25 years of executive leadership experience in the bedding industry, with a proven track record of building brands, expanding distribution, developing strategic partnerships, and driving profitable growth. Most recently, he served as CEO of home goods distributor Imaginarium and Company, where he led initiatives focused on growth, operational performance, and strategic licensing partnerships.

His 35-year bedding career began at Sealy and set the stage for more than 18 years rising through sales and executive leadership roles at Serta Simmons Bedding. During his tenure at Serta, he was a member of the executive leadership team that helped transform the company from the industry’s third-largest brand into the No. 1 mattress brand in the United States. He later served as president of Protect-A-Bed, where he led channel expansion, go-to-market strategies, and organizational transformation, helping strengthen the company’s market position. His background also includes a senior leadership role at Tempur Sealy.

“John’s proven ability to build brands, accelerate growth, and cultivate strong retail and licensing partnerships makes him an outstanding addition to our leadership team,” said Steve Antinori, executive chairman of Therapedic Worldwide. “His strategic mindset and deep industry experience will help position both Therapedic Worldwide and Sleep International for continued long-term success.”

In his new role, Rachid will partner closely with the leadership teams of both organizations to strengthen customer relationships, expand licensing opportunities, accelerate commercial growth, and identify new opportunities across domestic and international markets.

“I am honored to join Therapedic and Sleep International at such an exciting time,” said Rachid. “Both organizations have built exceptional reputations for quality, innovation, and partnership. I look forward to collaborating with our teams, customers, and licensees to accelerate sustainable growth, strengthen our commercial capabilities, and create long-term value across both organizations.”

Rachid will join the Therapedic team in its Las Vegas showroom B-946 to welcome visitors, July 26-27.
