Foam supplier Latexco U.S.Holdings LLC, headquartered in Lavonia, Georgia, has been granted FSC certification from Denmark-based NEPCon.
FSC certification means that Latexco U.S. products carrying the FSC label meet standards set by the Forest Stewardship Council to ensure raw materials have been sourced from a forest using environmentally responsible practices.
This FSC chain-of-custody certificate applies from extraction of the natural latex sap to the finished mattress, guaranteeing that the product is fully traceable and trackable, the company said in a news release.
“FSC is about transparency and traceability throughout the process, which is vital to the Latexco commitment to sustainability,” said Ben Ducatteeuw, chief executive officer of Latexco U.S. “We are proud of this distinction and will be able to tell our growing base of customers that our latex products come from responsibly managed forests, transported directly to our plant and made into premium products designed to improve the quality of life of consumers.”
Latexco in Europe has been certified since 2014, and now Latexco U.S. is able to offer its customers FSC-certified products, as well.
