Hillside, New Jersey-based Jomel Seams Reasonable has opened a new cut-and-sew facility in Jamestown, Kentucky.
The former location of a Fruit of the Loom sewing operation and other recently closed cut-and-sew facilities, Jamestown has a large talent pool for Jomel Seams Reasonable to draw on, said Lila Walker, a principal with the company. Jomel Seams Reasonable’s new plant will focus on zippered mattress covers, pillow covers and other cut-and-sew projects outside of the mattress industry.
“Jomel is continuing to expand our operations in order to fulfill domestic customer needs, and I am proud to have such a hard-working team to support our sales efforts,” Walker said. “We are also excited to show our latest and greatest samples at the upcoming ISPA EXPO 2018 in Charlotte, North Carolina. We’ve gotten very creative in our designs and ideas.”
With the addition, Jomel Seams Reasonable now has three U.S. sewing facilities, with a total of 90,000 square feet of production space and 100 employees. The company’s other facilities are located in Burkesville, Kentucky, and Trinity, North Carolina. Jomel Seams Reasonable is a sister company of Jomel Industries, a supplier of corner guards, handles, zippers and other bedding components and machinery for the bedding industry. It also is based in Hillside, New Jersey.
“We’re excited about our added capacity in Jamestown, so we can continue manufacturing consistent, high-quality products for our many customers,” said Phil Iuliano, president of Jomel Industries and Jomel Seams Reasonable.
