San Francisco mattress manufacturer and retailer McRoskey Mattress Co., which opened a pop-up store in San Rafael, California, in November 2017, has decided to make the store permanent.
Jill Bibo, director of retail sales at McRoskey, said the community has been welcoming, which made it an easy decision to transform from pop-up to permanent. “The move to downtown San Rafael is an opportunity to readily serve North Bay mattress shoppers, saving them a trip across the bridge,” Bibo said.
The McRoskey store also participates in downtown San Rafael’s monthly Second Friday Art Walk by hosting artists, photographers and live bands.
“It’s pretty fun—people are not expecting to hear a live band or look at art in a mattress store,” said Kaytea Petro, McRoskey marketing manager.
The San Rafael showroom, located at 1340 Fourth St. just east of D Street, is in a building dating back to the early 1880s with exposed brick walls. On display are McRoskey’s beds, as well as its pillows, blankets and duvets.
