Ergomotion invites RSAs to watch, listen and learn

In a move designed to beef up its retail sales training materials, adjustable base supplier Ergomotion, with U.S. headquarters in Santa Barbara, California, has launched a series of podcasts and videos that highlight the adjustable bed sales process for retail sales associates.

Part of Ergomotion’s larger multimedia education initiative called DreamTech Radio, the series also includes YouTube videos, a private Facebook group for retailers only, and blog posts summarizing each podcast and video.

The training series is centered on conversations between two of Ergomotion’s most experienced salespeople: Paris Fealy, vice president of sales, and Ryan King, a former sleep shop manager who now oversees Ergomotion’s East Coast sales. The two discuss general principles of selling and the specific sales process for adjustable beds.

“Many consumers believe an adjustable bed base is only for older people or those with health problems, but this training series gives RSAs the tools they need to shred that myth,” said Johnny Griggs, Ergomotion chief operating officer. “This material shows how to demonstrate that our product can help anyone get a better night’s sleep, regardless of age or health status.”

The basic content is a four-part conversation between Fealy and King, with separate segments covering general selling principles, as well as the beginning, middle and end of the adjustable sales process. It includes tips on how to introduce the adjustable base into the conversation and address any preconceived ideas about the product. It goes on to cover the health benefits of an adjustable base and concludes with techniques for closing the sale.

Segments are available at YouTube and in smaller, “bite-size” clips on Ergomotion’s Facebook page. Podcast audios can be downloaded from iTunes and SoundCloud.
