Mattress manufacturer and retailer Hilding Anders International, with world headquarters in Malmö, Sweden, has entered into a strategic partnership with ReST Responsive Surface Technology LLC, an Atlanta-based provider of smart beds.
As part of this cooperation, Hilding Anders, a KKR portfolio company, has licensed the ReST’s smart bed technology that will be used in manufacturing across the group’s markets in Asia, Europe and Russia. Based on this agreement, the company will launch a smart bed in these regions under its local brands. Hilding Anders presented a demo version of the product at the Bico relaunch fair in Schänis, Switzerland, in June. Bico is a leading bed brand in Switzerland.
The ReST smart bed solution, a patented and proprietary technology, won a CES Innovation Award in 2015.

In addition to the licensing agreement, Hilding Anders also gained a 25% stake in ReST, giving Hilding Anders its first footprint in the U.S. mattress and bedding market.
