Industry supplier Beverly Knits Inc., headquartered in Gastonia, North Carolina, has filled three new posts in its Altus Finishing division. Kenny Golden was hired as Altus president. Jason Defilippis was named manager of product development and design, and Jackie Tweedy is plant manager.
As president, Golden is tasked with leading the team at Beverly Knits’ new fabric finishing division, overseeing planning, operations and guiding future growth.
He is a seasoned top management executive in the knits segment, and his background includes director of manufacturing for both Polaratec Tennessee Manufacturing LLC and United Knitting, as well as a number of roles, including general manager, for the former Dyersburg Fabrics.
Defilippis has responsibility for managing product development projects and guiding design optimization. He also evaluates and resolves technical feasibility and product issues, and monitors industry developments.
Previously, Defilippis was a supplier quality engineer for W.L. Gore & Associates Inc. Prior to that, he was a fabric engineer for Target Brands Inc. and a senior process engineer for Springs Global US Inc.
Both Golden and Defilippis report to Ron Sytz, Beverly Knits president and principal.
Tweedy oversees daily plant operations, quality and scheduling. Her past experiences includes operations manager for Lava USA and plant manager for Colortex USA LLC. She reports to Golden.
“Kenny and Jackie both have strong backgrounds in textile finishing services,” Sytz said. “With Kenny’s technical expertise and operations knowledge and Jackie’s organizational skills, Altus Finishing will continue to offer our customers top quality services.
“Jason has brought an immense amount of talent to Beverly Knits. Since he has joined the team, he has streamlined many of our processes and identified multiple product development opportunities. We are excited about the new ideas he continuously brings to the table.”
