Malone returns to Bechik after having left in mid-2017 to pursue other interests. He spent six years with the company in various factory-floor roles, including dye-range management and quality control. In his new position, he reports to Harp.

According to Simon, Bechik has an employee stock ownership plan and since 1998 has been 100% employee owned. Both Harp and Malone are fully vested ESOP employees.

“This change in the management of our tape facility is a very positive move in that it allows fully vested … employees to also have a truly vested interest in the growth and success of the company as a whole, and become the mentors for other ESOP employees who are pursuing growth opportunities within our company.”

Bechik was founded in 1932 and is a mattress tape manufacturer, as well as a supplier of other goods to mattress makers. These include tufting components, plastic and metal components, threads, zippers, and other items. It has headquarters in Eagan, Minnesota, which houses the company’s accounting, customer service and sales departments.
