Mattress maker Diamond Mattress, with headquarters in Rancho Dominguez, California, is offering Diamond Mattress University, an online, mobile-friendly education program that provides three levels of specialized sales training and certification to retailers nationwide.
Free to retail partners, DMU uses videos and tests to engage sales associates, build their confidence and convert shoppers to buyers. Content includes sleep industry information, such as health and wellness data, research, mattress construction and components, sales process and techniques, and brand and product knowledge.
“Diamond Mattress University is unlike most programs out there because it goes well beyond product training,” said Patrick Wolf, vice president of sales and education. “Our goal is to empower retail sales associates with sleep knowledge and sales training so they can build trust with their customers, help them understand sleep and the products, and ultimately help grow the ticket.”
The training, which includes videos, quizzes and games, was developed and produced in-house. Retailers visiting the company’s showroom at the Winter Las Vegas Market in January were introduced to sample training modules.
