Scott Perry Baronofsky, 60, director of digital marketing for Eclipse International since 2015, died April 18 from COVID-19, which he contracted while undergoing treatment for cancer.

Baronofsky was a close relative of Stuart Carlitz, principal, president and chief executive officer of the Eclipse licensing group and mattress manufacturer Bedding Industries of America, both based in North Brunswick, New Jersey. Carlitz credited Baronofsky, who had a background in web design, with helping elevate the company’s online marketing presence and spearheading its overall advertising strategy and creative direction.

“Scott was more than a cousin,” Carlitz said. “I considered him my brother, and the contributions he made to our company were immense. I attribute much of our recent growth and success to his keen eye for photography, design and wordsmithing. Scott ingratiated himself into the hearts of our team, which became his extended family. His quick sense of humor, infectious laugh and bright smile will be missed by all.”

In addition to Carlitz, survivors include Baronofsky’s brothers, Fred and Larry; his sister-in-law, Charlene; and niece, Sierra.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions made in his name to the Seena Magowitz Foundation for pancreatic cancer research or to another cancer research organization.
