Southerland Creates All-Natural Beds

Nashville, Tennessee-based manufacturer and licensing group Southerland Inc. has redesigned its high-end latex mattress line to convey an all-natural sleep story.

The six new mattresses in Heritage Copper Latexfeature an organic cotton cover and multiple layers of all-natural Talalay latex. They are priced to retail from $2,000 to $5,000 in queen size.

“Consumers are increasingly looking for and buying more natural and organic products across all categories, from the food they eat to the hybrid cars they drive,” said Bryan Smith, president and chief executive officer of Southerland. “Our newly engineered Heritage Copper Latex collection features the most natural beds we’ve ever made. The collection gives our independent bedding retailers a way to stand out in the marketplace with a truly natural sleep option.”

In addition, the collectionfeatures copper infused into the all-natural latex. “Our retail partners have been requesting more specialty products, and this collection hits all their needs,” Smith said. “Natural and organic products are a great differentiator and appeal to a consumer group that is already accustomed to paying a premium for healthier products.”
