Savaré’s factory in Cerro Maggiore, Italy, has achieved the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification Plus (ISCC PLUS) certification. ISCC PLUS is a global sustainability certification system that enables sustainable, deforestation-free and traceable supply chains of bio-circular raw materials.
“The ISCC Plus certification represents another important milestone in Savaré’s commitment to bring safe, sustainable solutions to its customers and consumers,” said Pietro Savaré, business developer at Savaré, a hot-melt adhesives supplier headquartered in Milan.
With the ISCC PLUS certification, Savaré can produce products substituting virgin fossil raw materials with renewable materials through the mass balance approach, delivering identical material performances.
According to the ISCC website, ISCC PLUS is a standard that’s well-recognized by stakeholders for recycled and bio-based materials. The certification provides traceability along the supply chain and verifies that companies meet environmental and social standards. For companies using the mass balance approach, ISCC PLUS certification verifies that the mass balance accounting follows predefined and transparent rules.
“As consumer’s environmental consciousness accelerates and brands announce sustainability ambitions, Savaré continues to work closely with numerous industry partners to enable tangible improvements in the sustainability profile of a wide variety of articles including hygiene and medical products, mattresses and industrial articles,” Savaré said.
“In addition to the ISCC Plus certification, Savaré products always benefit from our uniquely water-free Safemelt patented packaging technology,” he added. “All these combined drives the carbon footprint of our products to be among the lowest in the industry.”
