BedTimes: Describe your role in a few sentences.
Kerri Bellias: I serve as senior vice president of member relations and business development. While the title covers a broad scope, it reflects two closely connected responsibilities. Drawing on my background as vice president of sales and the relationships I’ve built across the industry, I focus on strengthening engagement with our existing members while also identifying and developing new member categories. In addition, I oversee the ISPA EXPO floor plan, exhibit sales, and all sponsorship opportunities for the expo as well as two ISPA conferences.
BT: What drew you to the industry?
KB: I was initially drawn to the industry through my background in magazine advertising sales. I came on board to oversee advertising in BedTimes and Sleep Savvy magazines, but what has kept me in the industry is the people. It’s an industry built on long-term relationships, trust, and collaboration, and I immediately saw the opportunity to connect strong businesses with shared goals. That relationship-first culture is what makes the industry feel like home to me.
BT: What’s something about ISPA that people might not know that you’d like to share with our readers?
KB: When some people think of ISPA, they think of the ISPA EXPO, but what often goes unnoticed is that the expo is just one piece of a much larger year-round effort. ISPA provides ongoing advocacy, industry data, education, and collaboration opportunities that support members. ISPA is constantly working on behalf of members in ways that aren’t always visible but have a real impact on their businesses.
BT: What is one of the most exciting things you’ve accomplished since working for ISPA?
KB: One of the most exciting accomplishments has been overseeing the evolution of the ISPA EXPO by optimizing the floor plan, expanding exhibit and sponsorship opportunities, and creating new ways for exhibitors to connect with attendees. Watching that strategy translate into stronger engagement on the show floor has been especially fulfilling.
BT: What is a book, podcast, or movie you enjoyed recently that you want to recommend to others?
KB: One historical fiction book I’ve enjoyed is Enigma by Robert Harris. It’s a gripping World War II story centered on code breaking at Bletchley Park, combining historical detail with a fast-paced, thriller-like plot. It’s a great pick for anyone who enjoys history with a strong element of mystery.
