Bedding sales up in January

Beginning the year on an up note, unit sales (mattresses and foundations) rose 3.4% in January 2011 when compared to the same month in 2010, according to the Bedding Barometer, a monthly report of U.S. mattress sales activity produced by the International Sleep Products Association. The wholesale dollar value of the units was up 3.3% over 2010. The average unit selling price dipped 0.1%.
