WorldBed aids storm survivors

Worldbed Corona, Calif.-based nonprofit WorldBed, which supplies portable, cot-sized sleeping mats to people in areas damaged by natural disasters, has shipped 100 emergency field beds to aid victims of tornados that struck Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Missouri, Nebraska and Tennessee in late February and early March.

The beds were distributed by WorldBed partner Giving Children Hope.

The WorldBed project is funded by donations from individuals and bedding companies, including major donors Relax the Back and Ergo Customized Comfort. WorldBed, which was formed in 2005, has sent more than 25,000 beds worldwide to disaster survivors.
