NEW CONSUMER REPORTS’ BRAND SATISFACTION SURVEY SHOWS MAJOR MOMENTUM FOR SPRING AIR BRAND IN RANKINGS BY CONSUMER-READERS

BOSTON—Spring Air International was the only national mattress brand to grow its consumer brand satisfaction ranking between 2007 and June, 2011, according to Consumer Reports magazine in its August, 2012 issue.

The respected products review magazine, whose National Research Center surveys its consumer-subscribers on mattress brand satisfaction every three to four years, issued rankings in its current edition showing that satisfaction levels with Spring Air products have moved the brand to No. 7 on the list, from its former ranking of last among the 10 brands as reported in 2009.

“In 2009, when we reorganized as Spring Air International, we said in a trade press statement that beginning at that point, we expected to significantly increase our consumer satisfaction levels,” said company president Rick Robinson.

“I’m not only gratified to report that we kept that promise, but am also extremely pleased that we ‘moved the consumer satisfaction needle’ to the degree that we did and that our company represented the only brand to elevate our ranking over the measurement period.”

According to Consumer Reports, the brand rankings were based on 12,557 responses from the magazine’s consumer-subscribers about mattresses purchased new over the 4.5-year period ending in June, 2011.

Spring Air was rated seventh in the listing that was headed by Tempur-Pedic, followed by factory-direct/retail brands Original Mattress Factory, Select Comfort, IKEA and Denver Mattress, and Simmons.

“We believe this report says as much about today’s Spring Air brand and products as it does about the consumer awareness and recognition that our name continues to hold,” Robinson noted.

“Among the hundreds of mattress names in today’s U.S. marketplace, we not only remain a Top 10-named brand in these surveys, but we’re seeing a significant elevation in our satisfaction ranking.”

Consumer Reports is an independent, non-profit organization whose mission is to “work for a fair, just and safe marketplace for all consumers.” The agency has 50 labs and offices in the Yonkers, NY area, and its publication maintains a Top 10 U.S. magazine circulation.

Spring Air has 13 North American facilities and operates in 33 countries across the globe. The company helps retailers drive business while leveraging the reputation for trust and integrity inspired by its 86-year-old brand.
