Spaldin earns Oeko-Tex certification

Spaldin Sleep Systems has earned the Oeko-Tex Standard 100 Class I certification for its full line of finished mattresses and pillows.

The standard is an international certification system that tests textile raw materials, intermediate goods and end products for harmful substances. The certification covers Spaldin’s finished products and every component used in its polyurethane foam, visco-elastic and latex mattresses—from the core to the cover, including the fireproof barrier.

“We are the first company marketing in North America with Oeko-Tex certification covering our branded, finished mattresses and pillows, not merely the components we use to manufacture our product lines,” said Oscar Valdemoros, chief executive officer of the Logroño, Spain-based mattress producer. “Our goal is to set the bar at the highest level in terms of health and human safety. We sincerely hope that consumers will come to fully understand the importance of these companywide and branded product certifications.”
