Hickory Springs acquires transportation seating company

Industry components supplier Hickory Springs Mfg. Co., with headquarters in Hickory, N.C., has purchased the C.E. White Co., which manufactures seating for mass transit. C.E. White has more than 200 customers in North America and employs approximately 74 people at its New Washington facility and headquarters, and at a second plant in Fort Valley, Ga.

“Welcoming the C.E. White Co. to the Hickory Springs organization enhances opportunities for both companies as it leverages the core capabilities of each,” said David Colburn, Hickory Springs president and chief executive officer. “This acquisition makes Hickory Springs a more well-rounded player in the industry, able to capitalize on its unique competitive advantage as a producer of multiple components that can now be combined to create an integrated seating solution, and bringing new opportunities to C.E. White in the process.”
