Foam association extends membership to Americas

The Polyurethane Foam Association, headquartered in Loudon, Tenn., has opened membership to flexible polyurethane foam manufacturers throughout the Americas. The association added a federated membership category and has invited foamers with production facilities exclusively outside the United States to join the PFA.

“The new, federated membership category reflects a natural evolution for PFA in recognition of FPF manufacturing as an international industry with shared issues,” said Joe Progar, PFA president and Advanced Urethanes Technology executive vice president. “In this era of fast, global communications, news of events and regulatory activities are not limited to boundaries of any particular country.”

To qualify for federated membership, manufacturers must complete a written application that includes an agreement to abide by U.S. antitrust laws and to report monthly flexible foam production volume on a confidential basis to an independent, certified accounting firm for use in preparing blended, regional production trend information.

The association is offering a special membership rate to federated members effective through December. Also, new members will be eligible to register for 2013 PFA meetings at the rate of $350 per person, an immediate savings of $850 per person for each meeting. The association’s spring meeting is May 22-23 at the Vinoy Renaissance Hotel in St. Petersburg, Fla.

Prospective members can contact Bob Luedeka, PFA executive director, at rluedeka.pfa.org or check www.pfa.org for more information about membership, member benefits and upcoming meetings.
