Coinciding with its 114th anniversary, high-end manufacturer and retailer McRoskey Mattress Co. in San Francisco has unveiled new print ads, a website redesign and new company logo. All speak to a heritage of “handcrafting some of the world’s most comfortable mattresses and box springs,” the company said.

The whimsical print ads use a combination of hand-drawn illustrations and photography. One shows a mountain climber hiking up a peak with a Sherpa-like guide behind toting the hiker’s McRoskey mattress. The website, www.mcroskey.com, is now cleaner, easier to navigate and has bold imagery to reinforce the notion that the company may be over a century old, but it’s not old-fashioned. The logo, which is an image of the company’s sewn label complete with grommets, evokes McRoskey’s long history and handcrafted heritage. The logo prominently contains the words “Made in San Francisco, U.S.A.”

In discussing the company’s rebranding efforts, President Robin McRoskey Azevedo said, “Our customers have always known that McRoskey mattresses are incredibly comfortable. What they might not know is that they are made by hand, made right here and some people will go to extraordinary lengths to sleep on theirs every night. We’re exceptionally proud to be a part of the fabric of this city. My grandfather was one of the only mattress makers still operating and supplying mattresses following the 1906 earthquake.”
