King Koil expands specialty and hybrid collections, upgrades SleepID

King Koil logoMattress licensing group King Koil—which this month announced it was replacing the “Comfort Solutions” moniker with its original, global brand name—is unveiling a host of products and technologies at the Las Vegas Market July 29-Aug. 2. Visitors to the Willowbrook, Ill.-based company’s World Market Center A-546 showroom will view the new iMattress2 series, a redesigned Laura Ashley collection, and latex additions to the Perfect Contour line. The company also has upgraded its SleepID comfort assessment technology.

“Our presentations at this market give retailers new product designs that are highly competitive, as well as innovative components, new bed builds and looks that have compelling selling stories and great consumer appeal,” said Dave Roberts, King Koil president and chief operating officer.

The iMattress2 collection retails from $799 to $2,999 in queen and includes all-foam and hybrid beds. The all-foam beds have innovative a Perfect Response engineered foam core that is designed to deliver pressure relief and support.

“The critical difference lies in the design dynamics of the Perfect Response core,” said Owen Shoemaker, senior vice president of business development and innovation. “It provides a level of progressive resistance and anatomic support that many conventional cores cannot.”

The comfort layers are composed of a variety of specialty and gel foams and latex. iMattress2 hybrid models have an 8-inch tall pocket-spring core. The beds have contemporary styling and are available in King Koil’s patented Flare design.

The 10-model Laura Ashley collection has been redesigned inside and out with new fabrics, tailoring and new comfort layers, including King Koil’s proprietary iFusion gel memory foam.

Three new Perfect Contour models in higher price points round out the foam-encased mattress collection. The new beds have Natural Airflow latex in the top comfort layers. The latex is zoned and channel cut and contoured for maximum airflow. Retails in queen are from $1,699 to $2,399. Perfect Contour’s opening price point is $799.

King Koil’s SleepID diagnostic program now incorporates “photo captures of a consumer’s standing posture” to assist with proper mattress selection. Upgrades to SleepID are the result of multiyear research conducted in conjunction with the International Chiropractic Association, the company said.

“This new system is far more sensitive to people’s actual posture, capturing where their weight is distributed and where conformability of a mattress would be most helpful,” Shoemaker said. “It’s designed to determine how body weight is absorbed on a given bed and helps the consumer achieve a more ideal body alignment than what using BMI alone would typically allow.”
