The Bedding Barometer reports U.S. sales activity (including Puerto Rico) for the *U.S. mattress producers listed below. The report provides monthly and year-to-date information, compared to prior-year performance by the same group of companies, as well as regional breakdowns. Each quarter, the Bedding Barometer reports separate data for sales of innerspring and noninnerspring mattresses, in terms of units, dollars and average unit prices. The monthly report also publishes data on various economic indicators that can affect the demand for consumer products, including mattresses.

For more information about the statistical data and market forecasts that ISPA regularly publishes, check the ISPA website.

Compared with the most recently available unit and sales data published for the full U.S. mattress market in ISPA’s 2012 Mattress Industry Report of Sales and Trends, the participating companies in 2012 accounted for 70% by units and 78.5% by wholesale revenue of the full market. The performance of the companies that participate in the Bedding Barometer may not necessarily reflect the performance of the full mattress industry. For example, increases or decreases in the aggregate performance of the participating companies may reflect market share changes between the participating companies and the rest of the market, or may occur through changes in distribution, as opposed to increases or decreases in the overall market. Furthermore, comparing Bedding Barometer results for consecutive months or quarters, or with different time periods, can be affected by a number of factors, including differences in the number of workdays and holiday promotions in a given month, weather conditions, etc.
