Boston-based licensing group Spring Air International has signed a license agreement with SBI Mattress Inc., giving the Springfield, Ill.-based mattress manufacturer the right to produce and ship the Back Supporter and Sleep Sense bed brands throughout the state.
SBI Mattress, now Spring Air-Illinois, is a family-run business established in 1975. Michele Buyan is owner and president. Her son Joshua Patridge is plant manager of the 45,000-square-foot facility. Buyan’s son-in-law Scott Meyers is vice president of sales and marketing.
“We’re very pleased with the opportunity to centralize and increase our coverage in Illinois by adding a manufacturer that has a great reputation for quality and a business base that includes retailers who have been loyal customers for nearly 40 years,” said Spring Air President Rick Robinson.
Spring Air-Illinois will begin shipping Spring Air products in January and will participate in the winter Las Vegas Market Jan. 26-30.
