Carolina Mattress Guild appoints Piper as GM

Thomasville, N.C.-based mattress manufacturer Carolina Mattress Guild has hired Scott Piper as general manager, a new position for the company. He assumes responsibility for creation and implementation of new corporate initiatives and strategies, including procurement, assembly, service support and general manufacturing projects, a news release stated.

Piper is a mattress industry veteran who spent 26 years with Sealy in a number of roles, including vice president of new product development, vice president of product merchandising and director of marketing for specialty bedding.

Piper reports to Neal Grigg, Carolina Mattress Guild chief executive officer.

“I believe Scott’s combination of broad experience, passion for the mattress business and drive to succeed will help us build upon our current growth and direction,” Grigg said.
