Jones Cos. honored for support of Tennessee higher ed

Recycled textile byproducts supplier Jones Companies Ltd., with headquarters in Humboldt, Tennessee, was presented with the Chancellor’s Award for Philanthropy from Jackson State Community College and the Tennessee Board of Regents.

The award honors individuals, companies and organizations that donate time, money and resources to Tennessee’s state universities, community colleges and vocational-technical schools

Jones was instrumental in the establishment of the Humboldt Center for Higher Education at Jackson State, a news release said. The company also funds nontraditional student scholarships, other campus initiatives and provides scholarship support to employees and their families.

“Jones Companies exemplifies dedication to education,” said Dr. Warren Nichols, vice chancellor for community colleges of the Tennessee Board of Regents. “We can truly say that Jones Companies Ltd. is a supporter of Jackson State Community College.”
