Sommex inks deal with U.S buying group BrandSource

Toronto-based Sommex Bedding Corp. announced it has partnered with national buying group BrandSource USA for distribution of the Natura and NexGel bed brands.

“With a new management team, we are excited to have the Natura and NexGel brands as BrandSource partners,” said E. Michael Allen, BrandSource vice president of home furnishings. “Both Natura and NexGel offer unique product lineups that have a growing market with today’s consumer.”

Sommex attended the BrandSource national convention in Las Vegas Aug. 24-27, and has an ongoing relationship with separately operated BrandSource Canada for the distribution of Natura, NexGel, Obusforme and Sommex mattresses.

“We are excited to partner with BrandSource USA and their expansive member list,” said Valerie Stranix, Sommex chief marketing officer. “Our Natura product line offers a more natural sleep option for the consumers shopping at these stores, and NexGel is a real, pressure-relieving gel product line amidst a ‘sea of gel,’ for members’ mattress floors. Both brands deliver an improved retail-margin opportunity and higher average transaction value, a welcome addition to any retail program these days.”
