Mattress maker Paramount Sleep honored suppliers Innofa and Leggett & Platt, and Paramount sales-team members Mary Goldburg and Kelly Wernersbach at an annual awards dinner. The Norfolk, Virginia-based company also presented a special award to Chairman Arthur Diamonstein for his 60 years of service.
Innofa’s Randy Wiles won Paramount’s 2014 Top Gun Award as the year’s best supplier representative. Leggett & Platt earned accolades as Supplier of the Year for Innovation. Goldburg was named the 2014 Diamond Award winner as top salesperson, and Wernersbach was recognized as the 2014 rookie of the year.
Arthur Diamonstein was saluted for his lifetime of service to the company and the bedding industry.
“He has been an inspiration, a true leader—a quiet leader—and a great mentor,” said Paramount President Richard Fleck.
Diamonstein joined Paramount in 1954, following military service during the Korean War. He started as a truck driver and worked his way up, eventually becoming Paramount president in 1980.
“Dad has taught us all about commitment,” said Richard Diamonstein, Paramount managing director. “Whenever he commits to a cause or course of action, it has always been important for him to see it through.”
Son Jamie Diamonstein, also Paramount managing director, said, “The professional quality I respect most in my father is his integrity. When you look up ‘integrity’ in the dictionary, his picture should be there.”
