HomTex to expand production

Sleep accessories supplier HomTex Inc. is planning a $4 million retrofit of a manufacturing plant once used for tools. The facility is located on 29 acres in Cullman, Alabama, near its 100,000-square-foot headquarters in Vinemont.

With the retrofit, HomTex will gain 300,000 square feet of cut-and-sew production space, which will allow the company to triple production capacity of its branded sheets, protective mattress pads and duvet covers, said HomTex President Jeremy Wootten. A start date for production in the new facility will be set later this year. The company also owns manufacturing facilities in North Carolina and South Carolina that are dedicated to pillow filling and terry weaving.

“We’ve identified growth opportunities for top-of-bed products from HomTex that deliver real solutions for end users, as well as incremental sales and margins for dealers,” Wootten said. “Increasing our U.S.-based manufacturing capacity is a critical step in the areas of fulfillment and reducing delivery lead times.”

HomTex supplies brand names Suprelle, Dream Essence by FitRite, Revive and DreamFit to mass retailers, department stores, specialty sleep retailers, home furnishings dealers and e-commerce sites.
