Retailer Sit ‘n Sleep, with headquarters in Gardena, California, together with Lexington, Kentucky-based manufacturer Tempur Sealy donated 250 Tempur-Pedic mattresses to Southern California fire stations. The gift coincided with National Fire Prevention Week Oct. 4-10.
Sit ‘n Sleep trucks delivered new beds to fire departments in Brea, Los Angeles, Pasadena and Rancho Mirage. Old mattresses picked up and recycled. This is the companies’ second firehouse donation in two years.
“We’re thrilled to provide comfortable, supportive beds to the local firefighters who put their lives on the line everyday to protect us,” said Larry Miller, Sit ‘n Sleep chief executive officer. “We hope that the donation brings awareness to National Fire Prevention Week and provides plenty of extra comfort to the brave men and women who work tirelessly for their communities.”
