Luxury bed maker Harrison Spinks, based in Leeds, England, has named Michael Dingwall manufacturing director. He replaces long-standing director, Don Parkes, who is retiring after more than 12 years with the company.
In his new post, Dingwall oversees manufacturing operations in the bedding division, as well as human resources, the company’s work-study program, process control, maintenance and plant safety.
Previously, Dingwall spent close to two decades with manufacturing and licensing major Silentnight, with headquarters in Barnoldswick, England. He began there as a trainee in the graduate management program, and worked in every department before specializing in manufacturing. Dingwall also chaired the U.K. furniture industry’s Trailblazer Group, a committee that rewrote apprenticeship standards for the industry.
“Michael has a varied and extensive skill set that will be valuable in helping us to continue our mission to be the most vertically integrated bed manufacturer in the world. His experience gained at Silentnight will help to maintain our consistent high quality while bringing new, fresh ideas to our processes,” said Simon Spinks, managing director of Harrison Spinks.
